FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What can we expect at our first visit?

The physical therapist will come to your home to meet you and your baby. The physical therapist will conduct an interview, observe your baby, assess your baby’s development, offer consultation and establish a plan of care.

How long are your visits?

Visits are typically 30min. An evaluation will last 1 hour.

Do I need a prescription from my doctor to see you?

No. In California you have direct access to see a physical therapist. However, the physical therapist would like to work closely with all specialists involved in your child’s care to provide optimal services.

How long will my child need services?

Your physical therapist will be able to discuss your child’s plan of care with you at your appointment. Each child is unique and will develop at his/her own pace. In some instances a child may need direct treatment weekly to meet their goals and in other cases consultation and monitoring of a home program is all that is necessary.

Do you take insurance?

PT for Baby does not contract with insurance companies. Cash, checks and credit cards are accepted. Documentation can be provided if you choose to submit for reimbursement by a Health Savings Account, Flexible Spending Account or to Insurance.
